"Untitled"

Bathroom Design In Historic Townhome For The Kips Bay Showhouse NYC

Upper West Side, Manhattan, NY

Project Scope

Project Summary

Aptly named “Untitled”, Ahmad AbouZanat’s bathroom design is at once nothing but everything. The room is a marriage of materials celebrating the beauty in less; an ode to simplicity as a romantic, understated luxury. There are no expectations for the viewer but rather an opportunity for one’s own unbiased, emotional reaction. The deconstructed, material-based design pulls from the building’s storied exterior. A rust colored tiled wall mirrors the outside facade and contrasts the neighboring white tiles inside, creating a unified yet separate space. The division of color, completed with Fireclay tiles, is simple and modern with a clear delineation of space for varied moments of refuge within a room.
