East Side Pied-a-terre

Furnishing Design For NYC Apartment Overlooking the East River

East Side, Manhattan, NY

Project Scope

Project Summary

This 685 square foot pied-a-terre on the East Side of New York City is home to a couple with 3 adult children. The design aesthetic is the ultimate in understated luxury – a casual yet chic home to lounge and have meals together as a family. The design even incorporates each of the family member’s favorite colors throughout the home.

Despite structural limitations in the bedroom, Ahmad’s smart use of space allowed for a cohesive bedroom design. A unique 2 layer headboard sets the foundation for a statement piece of art to rest above the bed and fill up an otherwise empty wall. In the kitchen, a square dining table extends to accommodate guests – an otherwise rare find. Bold colors and geometric shapes play against the circular rug below that Ahmad custom designed as part of his collaboration with the rug brand JD Staron.
