The Belnord

Timeless Pied-à-Terre Interior Design in the Landmark Belnord Building

Upper West Side, Manhattan, NY

Project Scope

Project Summary

Set inside The Belnord, the 1909 Italian Renaissance Revival landmark on the Upper West Side that inspired Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, this apartment is a New York anchor for a Miami-based couple who wanted to be closer to family. The brief called for a highly curated home built around their extensive collection of art, objects, and books, delivering equally on functionality, comfort, and aesthetics. Within such a historic envelope, we favored timeless design over strictly contemporary pieces, with bespoke furniture doing the heavy lifting: a driftwood walnut headboard with integrated vanity and lighting in the primary bedroom, and a walnut and aged brass console that nods to the clients’ Brazilian heritage in the moody guest room and office.
