Aptly named “Untitled”, Ahmad AbouZanat’s bathroom design is at once nothing but everything. The room is a marriage of materials celebrating the beauty in less; an ode to simplicity as a romantic, understated luxury. There are no expectations for the viewer but rather an opportunity for one’s own unbiased, emotional reaction. 

The deconstructed, material-based design pulls from the building’s storied exterior. A rust colored tiled wall mirrors the outside facade and contrasts the neighboring white tiles inside, creating a unified yet separate space. The division of color, completed with Fireclay tiles, is simple and modern with a clear delineation of space for varied moments of refuge within a room. 

The bathtub is a quiet moment of respite at the end of a long, emotional day. It’s a serene, soaking sanctuary and the epitome of self care. Warm bathwater with scented suds envelops every inch of one’s body in the most comforting hug. Between a set of European-style wooden shutters, a cool breeze whistles through the window allowing one’s thoughts to wander and providing a moment for meditative breath; to reflect on deep thoughts. The crackle of the candle beside the tub is a comfort in the silence while warm, ambient light allows for pen to be put to paper, perhaps spilling out unrequited emotions.
